Biography

Dawson Wells (b. 1988) works primarily in oil on linen, creating images that sit between observation and memory. His practice is a continuous inquiry into how space holds emotion and how light can transform the mundane into the monumental.

Having studied at the Royal College of Art, Wells has developed a distinct visual language that prioritizes atmosphere and psychological weight over descriptive detail. His paintings often feature solitary figures or quiet interiors, captured in moments of profound stillness.

He currently lives and works in London, maintaining a studio practice that balances traditional technical rigor with a modern sensibility for space and composition.

Collector / Press Note

"Wells has an uncanny ability to capture the weight of a moment. His interiors aren't just rooms; they are vessels for memory, rendered with a sensitivity to light that feels both ancient and entirely contemporary."
